No. Modern ceramic films are designed to be high performance without needing to be "dark". We have films that are virtually clear yet still block uv, and heat.

Not exactly. One-way mirror films rely on lighting conditions; they reflect the side with the brighter light. At night, if your lights are on inside, people can still see in unless you have blinds or curtains. You get privacy during the daytime with privacy window film or if you frost glass blocking the view from inside and out.

The film successfully lowered the room temperature by 8°F degrees. Window film can only control heat through the glass, not heat coming from insulation, the attic, walls, or HVAC issues. For more cooling beyond this point, the home needs airflow or insulation adjustments as possible options.

Window films greatly reduce fading but cannot stop it 100%. There are many factors to fading, UV is only one factor to fading. Film blocks 99% of UV rays, but other factors like heat, natural light, other factors contribute to fading. Some fading is still possible over the years.
